The family-friendly holiday home is located in a private holiday home complex with 21 houses on a small hill (approx. 50 m above the sea) on a cliff edge facing the sea (approx. 100 m away). It therefore has a beautiful view of the sea. The private complex and the beach below are mainly used by the owners.
The beach can be reached on foot in about 5-10 minutes via two asphalted paths of approx. 400 m and 600 m respectively.
The beach is unspoilt and consists of fine sand with small pebbles. This means that there are no bars or cafés here. The beach is usually used alone and is very quiet.
The beach and sea are sheltered from the wind, so the water is usually calm.
Beaches with bars, cafés, restaurants, shopping facilities and water sports can be reached by car in the nearby small towns, e.g. Nea Potidea (3 km), Nea Moudania (8 km), Nea Fokea (8 km), Afitos (13 km) and many other beaches on both sides of the Kassandra peninsula.
The resort is 60 km from Thessaloniki airport and can be reached by car in approx. 45 minutes via the motorway. A car is required in any case.
*** Facilities ***
The holiday home has 2 living levels. On the ground floor there is the air-conditioned living room with fireplace and an open-plan kitchen, a bedroom with two single beds and a bathroom with shower. From the living room there is access to the terrace with a lawn and a view of the sea.
On the upper floor there are two bedrooms, each with a double bed and air conditioning, and another bathroom with a shower. From the front bedroom there is access to the large balcony with beautiful views over the sea.
The kitchen has a cooker with ceramic hob, dishwasher, fridge, coffee machine, toaster and kettle. Due to the risk of fire, the toaster may only be used when an adult is present in the kitchen.
Bed linen and towels are provided. A washing machine is available for your own use. There is a hairdryer in every bathroom.
Internet is available free of charge (WiFi).
For convenience, spices, sugar, salt and vinegar are available in the kitchen to get you started. Washing-up liquid, cleaning products and toilet paper are also available. Missing consumables can be purchased if required.
*** Outdoor area ***
In the outdoor area there is a terrace with a lawn and a view of the sea through an approx. 50 m wide gap between the houses in the front row. The front row of houses is about 3 metres lower, so the view of the sea from the balcony of the house is unobstructed.
There is a stone barbecue at the rear of the house.
Tumble dryers are also available for hanging up laundry.
*** Special features ***
The tap water has a high degree of hardness and is expressly not authorised as drinking water. It is obtained from springs in the nearby mountains and can be used for showers, washing etc. without any problems. However, it should not be drunk, nor should it be used for cooking or coffee, as the appliances quickly calcify.
Hot water is provided by a solar system that stores around 250 litres of hot water. The water only needs to be reheated electrically if the weather is bad for several days (the switch for this is in the kitchen).
The existing air conditioning units can be used for cooling and heating (for cooler days in spring and late autumn).
*** Surroundings ***
The nearest village with shopping facilities for daily needs is Nea Potidea (approx. 3 km).
Here you will also find beaches with bars, cafés and restaurants. At the small harbour of Nea Potidea you can buy fresh fish in the morning from the returning fishing boats or in the local shops.
The village of Nea Fokea is located south of the holiday home (approx. 8 km) in a bay with a small harbour, restaurants and cafés. The district town of Nea Moudania (approx. 8 km to the north) offers all the amenities of a small lively town with shops, banks, restaurants and bars.
The beautiful village of Afitos lies to the south (approx. 15 km) and is one of the most beautiful villages in Halkidiki. The centre of Afitos is situated on a hill above the sea, with beautiful stone-built houses from the 19th century. In the narrow streets there are many small shops and restaurants (rather touristy).
The house is cleaned and the laundry washed by cleaning staff after the tenants move out. Tenants are obliged to leave the house in a tidy condition when they move out.
Our local contacts speak English and Greek and are available to answer any questions about the house. This is a private letting, therefore we do not offer any additional services.
