It was here that the first known fossil of the dinosaur Iguanodon was discovered and the interesting museum, which is located in Queen’s Hall, can give further information. The Studio (ref UKC1599) and Petit Knowle (ref UKC2003) make an excellent base from which to discover the local gardens including Borde Hill, Nymans, Wakehurst Place and Sheffield Park and Gardens. Go wine tasting and experience the world-class wines that Sussex produces at Ridgeview Estate, Bluebell Vineyard and Wiston Estate. Step back in time with a trip on the Bluebell steam railway, take a picnic and enjoy the opera at Glyndebourne, visit an antiques fair at Ardingly, or try your luck with the horses at Hickstead. After a busy day, Ockenden Manor Spa is a beautiful Elizabethan manor house where you can enjoy a relaxing evening.
