A coastal cottage resting in an idyllic position from which to explore Norfolk and Suffolk, Waveney View Cottage is a wonderful family holiday home for a relaxing retreat in Burgh Castle.
Sitting on the fringes of the Norfolk Broads and just a stone's throw away from the scenic River Yare, you can take a short stroll along the river path to the famous nature reserve of Breydon Water, there's no better choice for those seeking a remote base in East Anglia.
Make your way down the private drive shared with the owner and pull up into your private parking space before kicking off your shoes in the porch and marveling at the beauty of this all-ground-floor holiday home.
Boasting an open-plan living space the cottage offers a wonderful social aspect, the royal red sofas inviting you to take a seat before the television, or gather together at the dining table to tuck into a tasty homemade meal.
The contemporary kitchen hosts a good range of utensils and appliances, with plenty of workspace for the chef of the group to make the most of, there's also a dishwasher too so you don't have to worry about the washing up! Be sure to dine alfresco in the summer months on your own private patio and watch as the boats go past you might even catch a glimpse of a fox, marsh harrier, owl or deer travel across the garden at dusk, the little ones will be delighted at the shared use of the owner's play area; the perfect place to create everlasting memories with your loved ones.
When it's time to rest take your pick from two double bedrooms and a single, each offering a homely interior and a snug spot to rest each evening, as well as being served from the beautiful family bathroom where you can freshen up for each day of adventure.
The cottage benefits from a wide range of wonders within walking distance; nearby there is a privately owned lake (day passes for fishing can be purchased) where you will find wonderful fishing opportunities, if you need more excitement, try your hand at fishing the fast flowing tidal River Yare which is also within walking distance, visitors travelling from all over to try their hand at tackling powerful tidal river, at the back of the property, a short walk along the footpath past the church, you will find the ruins of Burgh Castle providing panoramic views over the River Waveney and Berney marshes with plenty of nature to spot, it's well-worth a visit, there are also 2 golf courses within 3 miles of the Cottage.
The village of Burgh Castle is also home to a good range of amenities for your self-catered stay, with a Post Office with local shop and pubs too, while there are also ample opportunities for cycling and walking in the area as well as bird watching, The Broads boasting endless footpaths and cycle routes amongst luscious landscapes, with plenty of heritage and history to discover along the way such as the nearby Berney Arms windmill, the tallest drainage mill on The Broads! If you travel just a little further you can enjoy the Seaside town of Southwold with its famous pier and enjoy a tour of Adnams Brewery or visit the shop and enjoy the sampling.
