Welcome to Fig Tree Shepherd’s Hut, a beautiful retreat finished to a high standard, nestled in the corner of an orchard overlooking an organic farm, peace and relaxation are the order of the day here although it’s an easy walk into Bridport town centre.
Inside, you have an open plan living space, which also incorporates the bedroom area.
The kitchen has a 2-ring hob and microwave oven plus a fridge, and the bedroom area has a comfortable double bed and vintage G Plan oak chest of drawers.
The bathroom has a large shower cubicle and heated towel rail.
Outside, is a lovely private garden with seating area overlooking the orchard where you can relax in the evenings listening to the wildlife and sheep in the fields. Fig Tree Shepherd’s Hut lies in the charming village of Bothenhampton a mile from West Bay and the World Heritage Jurassic Coast which offers access to the southwest Coast Path’s stunning scenery.
Fig Tree provides a perfect holiday base for exploring this Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty.
Discover old farm tracks and byways or explore local harbours and Chesil beach nearby, the location is perfect for walking, swimming, or fishing.
Fossil hunt at nearby Charmouth, walk along the famous Cobb at Lyme Regis, or spend a day at Abbotsbury Swannery, the only place in the world where guests can walk alongside the swans. ‘The region is fizzing with great food and great places to eat it’ (Rick Stein), and ’This is the only place you’d ever want to come on holiday’ (David Tennant).

Very cramped and not prepared to live out of our suitcases. No comfortable seating. No tv. But the cream tea and milk were very welcome. Hosts lent hair drier which was appreciated. Very peaceful. We prepared in haste so should have researched more for what was and was not provided.

Absolutely beautiful little shepherds hut. It was clean, neat and cosy. I would 100% recommend. Just what my husband and I needed to shut off from our hectic working life.
The scones, cream and jam were a lovely touch too!
We also enjoyed walking up to the golden cap which was close by.

We had a perfect holiday at Fig Tree Shepherds Hut, we received a lovely warm welcome and the owners were so friendly and helpful.
