A superb location to visit the City of Durham and surrounding attractions. Lovely, spacious accommodation, perfect for friends or families.. 1 step to entrance.

Please note: As the bungalow is situated in Durham’s Conservation area, parking in the road requires a permit. There is parking for 3 or 4 cars on the driveway. . Farnley Ridge sits within a quiet residential avenue within walking distance of the centre of Durham and its universities. Ideally situated with excellent links to major road networks, it is set in an elevated position with a lovely private garden. The bungalow offers spacious and comfortable accommodation for up to six people with private parking. The attractive open plan living and dining room are spacious, with comfortable seating, Smart TV and wood burner. Doors lead off the living room into a light filled conservatory, which is a lovely space to relax and unwind. There is a small snug which is an ideal place for the children to have their own space, with TV, books and games.
The accommodation is conveniently all on the ground floor, ideal for any guests with limited mobility. There are three bedrooms, a double with en-suite shower room, a further double with garden views and doors leading out to the garden, with two steps down (with handrail) to a small patio with seating, and a twin room. There is a modern bathroom for those who prefer a soak, and a lovely, double walk-in rainfall shower. There is a separate toilet also.
Outside is a lawned garden set with shrubs and plants, a lovely seating area with table and chairs for al fresco dining. There are chairs outside the garden bedroom, a lovely spot to sit and enjoy morning coffee.
Within a 10-minute walk you are in the centre of the historic city of Durham with its beautiful riverside walks. Listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site, the city is filled with a variety of historic sites and popular visitor attractions that are centuries old. Durham Castle and cathedral must be visited to appreciate the awe-inspiring architecture. The Gala Theatre is in the centre of the city, making Farnley Ridge a perfect location for guests wanting to enjoy a theatre trip as part of their break. Packed with top quality restaurants, bistros, cafés and bars, Durham is a thriving city with plenty of entertainment at any time of the year. The incredible Lumiere Festival takes place every second November, enjoy the jazz festival, arts festival, Miners Gala, and many more free attractions, as well as the weekly farmers’ market. The university colleges and campuses can be found nearby, and this is the ideal base to get to know the university and visit friends and family who might be attending one of the graduation ceremonies.
The top-class cricket ground of Durham County Cricket Club is also only a 15-minute drive away, great for enjoying a test match or concert. The very popular Beamish Living Museum is a 20-minute drive away and makes a good day out for families of all ages. The Angel of the North sculpture is just a 20-minute drive, while Newcastle and the Metro Centre are 30 minutes by car. The Heritage Coast is under 20 miles away.
