The area is characterised by houses carved into the rock, picturesque alleys and spectacular views. Within walking distance are the Matera Cathedral (6 minutes), the Tramontano Castle (8 minutes) and the ancient rock churches (12 minutes). The area also offers shops, typical restaurants and cafés, making it an ideal place to explore the history and culture of the city.
