POOLE QUAY - Poole Quay is an exciting, ever-changing blend of maritime activity and a focal point for a wide range of entertainment and leisure pursuits. Pleasure craft offer trips direct from the Quay to Brownsea Island , Sandbanks and beyond, whilst anglers can book fishing trips at the Fisherman`s Quay . If you simply want to promenade along the waterfront past the visitors` marina and have a meal and a drink, then the Quayside and Old Town areas are packed with excellent restaurants, pubs and winebars offering huge variety and choice. From the Quay, shoppers can stroll up the pedestrianized High Street, with its wide range of retail outlets and facilities. Safe Blue Flag sandy beaches at Sandbanks, Branksome and Alum Chines are just 15 minutes away by car and the natural beauty of The New Forest is approximately 30 minutes distance away. A short trip on the Sandbanks chain ferry offers the option of even more beautiful beaches skirted by sand dunes and walks in the National Trust protected Purbeck Hills.

We love it here as it is peaceful and there is always something to see going on in the harbour. We were there in Easter week and in future would avoid popular holiday times. The restaurants are very good, especially St. Tropez. With a small supermarket just outside the building and access to flat walking, it is ideal for us.

This the first holiday accommodation we have stayed in where everything was supplied and not the usual minimum of cutlery and crockery. Everything was beautifully decorated and all the fittings and furniture tasteful and clean. The only thing missing was there was no non-stick spatula for the non s...
