Leafield Cottage is a delightful retreat situated in the heart of the Cotswolds AONB in Little Witcombe, Gloucestershire.
With ample off-road parking for three cars, a large garden with barbecue, partial ground-floor living and welcoming two well-behaved dogs, this charming abode is perfect for families or friends seeking a serene countryside escape.
Upon entering, you will find a striking lion’s head door-knocker welcoming you inside.
The home unfolds in a graceful wrap-around layout, beginning with the sitting room, flowing into the dining room, and culminating in the spacious kitchen—each space inviting you to linger and enjoy.
The heart of the home is the well-equipped kitchen, perfect for preparing home-cooked meals.
This spacious kitchen is designed in calming green tones, with a skylight that bathes the room in natural light.
Gather around the large breakfast bar for morning coffee or casual chats while meals are prepared, or enjoy a relaxed bite at the circular dining table set in front of wide windows.
Sliding French doors open directly onto the garden, inviting the outdoors in. Just off the kitchen, the utility room provides a practical space with a washing machine and tumble dryer, keeping laundry tasks neatly tucked away.
The dining room, with seating for ten guests, is ideal for enjoying meals together and discussing the day's adventures, illuminated by a statement chandelier overhead that adds a touch of elegance to every gathering.
After dinner, retire to the sitting room, where you can unwind in front of the Smart TV and enjoy the warmth of the gas fire, sinking into the inviting ambience and sharing stories from the day’s explorations.
When it is time to sleep, you will be greeted by a spacious super-king-size bedroom on the ground floor, boasting double doors that lead directly to the garden and an en-suite with a walk-in shower, basin and WC. Upstairs, you find the landing space offers stunning countryside views, providing a tranquil spot to enjoy a moment of calm, before continuing to the restful sleeping quarters.
These include a king-size bedroom with a charming sloping ceiling, a double bedroom with dual aspect views and its own en-suite with a walk-in shower, basin and WC, and a twin bedroom also featuring a sloping ceiling.
The property also benefits from a family bathroom, complete with a bath, shower over, basin and WC, ensuring there is plenty of space for everyone to prepare for the day ahead.
Outside, the garden is a haven of serenity, with a lush lawn, patio and furniture, perfect for alfresco dining or simply soaking up the sun. The garden is large and beautifully manicured, with mature trees, shrubbery, and green views stretching out to the countryside beyond.
A peaceful bench offers a quiet spot to sit and take it all in. With an open aspect and direct access to walks on the Cotswold Way, this property truly is a countryside gem. Experience the natural beauty of Westonbirt at The National Arboretum, a magnificent historic landscape boasting 15,000 varied and beautiful trees from all corners of the globe.
Don't miss a trip to the striking Gloucester Cathedral; a site of Christian worship since the 7th century, its stunning architecture will leave you breathless.
For a playful day out, visit the Model Village – a fascinating 1/9th scale replica of an idealised Cotswold village, where you can peer into the houses, spot the minutest detail and delight in the craftsmanship and quintessential English charm.
No matter how you choose to fill your days in the gorgeous Cotswolds, every moment will be a delight with Leafield Cottage as your picturesque base.
