The Long Barn, a charming barn conversion, is situated on a farm in the rural hamlet of Garston near Waterhouses, Staffordshire.
Set against the stunning backdrop of picturesque countryside and just a stone’s throw from the Peak District National Park, this characterful hideaway is the perfect base for families or groups of friends looking to relax, reconnect, and soak up nature’s beauty.
Boasting ample off-road parking for three cars and thoughtfully designed with ground-floor living and wide walkways, The Long Barn is wonderfully accessible and fully wheelchair-friendly—so everyone can enjoy a truly inclusive countryside escape.
Step inside and you’ll be greeted by an inviting open-plan living space, where original wooden beams and timber reclaimed from the barn itself add a touch of rustic character throughout.
The well-equipped kitchen is a delight for keen cooks, with all the essentials for whipping up delicious meals, plus a wine chiller to keep your favourites chilled and ready for those quiet evenings in. Gather around the dining table that comfortably seats eight, perfect for hearty breakfasts, celebratory dinners, and planning tomorrow’s adventures.
After a day of exploring, sink into the plush corner sofa in the sitting area, curl up with a blanket, and enjoy your favourite shows on the Smart TV. With four beautifully-styled bedrooms, there's space for everyone to unwind.
Upstairs, you’ll find two elegant double rooms—one with its own en-suite walk-in shower—alongside a charming twin room and a family shower room complete with a vanity mirror for getting ready in style.
On the ground floor, a spacious double bedroom offers step-free access, paired with a contemporary wet room featuring handrails for extra comfort and support.
Outside, the delightful rear courtyard is a haven for all ages.
Let the children play on the soft artificial lawn, discover the fun circus-style tent, or create magical memories beneath the bespoke sheltered outdoor dining area.
With rattan seating, a patio heater, and shelter from the elements, it’s perfect for any season.
Get the Ninja outdoor grill and air fryer going for a casual alfresco dining experience or simply unwind with a good book and a glass of wine under the stars.
Immerse yourself in the tranquillity of rural Staffordshire by embarking on a wealth of local walks right from your doorstep in Garston.
Visit the nearby villages of Waterhouses and Ipstones, where you will find a convenience store and welcoming pubs, perfect for picking up supplies or enjoying a local pint.
Delving further into the impressive countryside, make your way towards the Peak District National Park, an idyllic spot for those looking to embark on a scenic hike or bike ride.
Alternatively, take a leisurely drive to the charming market towns of Ashbourne or Leek, both boasting a plethora of high-quality restaurants, quirky boutiques, and vibrant markets.

Four friends had a lovely week in this beautiful barn conversion. Beds were comfortable, showers were great, loads of kitchen equipment and it’s in a great setting. Loved watching the goats and the Llamas. The only thing Sykes failed to provide was the weather!! We still managed a couple of good walks and some nice days out. Would happily come here again.
