Mei's Cottage is a characterful thatched cottage resting in Pinhoe, Devon.
Suited to families and friends looking for a flexible stay within easy reach of Dartmoor National Park, Exeter and the surrounding county.
Pull up onto the driveway and approach the cottage on foot through a garden filled with flowers, following a pathway that guides you towards the entrance, creating a welcoming first impression before you even step inside.
A single step leads you up to the stable door, offering a traditional feel as you enter the property.
You are welcomed into the ground floor, where the layout unfolds into the main living spaces.
The kitchen sits with views out towards the garden, where you can prepare meals using the fridge freezer, gas hob and washing machine, all set against pretty tiled walls that add a touch of character to the space.
From here, move into the dining room where a Smart TV provides entertainment as you gather around the table, whether starting the day with breakfast or settling in for the evening.
A step down leads you into the hallway and onwards to the sitting room, where exposed beams overhead enhance the cottage’s traditional feel.
Here, you can sink into the seating with a film or book, while the sofa bed offers a flexible sleeping option, with a curtain giving added privacy when in use. The family bathroom is conveniently located on the ground floor and includes a bath, walk-in shower, basin and WC, allowing you to freshen up with ease after a day out. Head upstairs via the steep staircase, where the character continues, leading you to a small double bedroom tucked beneath the eaves, and another double with space to unpack your belongings, providing a simple and restful place to unwind at the end of the day. Back outside, the garden wraps around the property and includes a covered pergola, offering a sheltered spot to sit and enjoy time outdoors, enjoy the barbecue for relaxed afternoons when the weather allows.
A short walk will bring you to a local shop and pub for everyday essentials and dining out. From here, Exeter is within easy reach, where you can spend time exploring Exeter Cathedral, browsing the Royal Albert Memorial Museum, and discovering a range of independent shops and cafés. Over in Topsham, you can stroll along the estuary, watch wildlife along the Exe Estuary Trail, and enjoy riverside dining.

Mei's Cottage consists of a kitchen with electric oven, electric hob, microwave, fridge/freezer, washing machine, tumble dryer, kettle, and toaster, along with a living/dining room with seating and a separate sitting room with sofa bed. The bedrooms consist of a "4 double and a double. There is a ground-floor bathroom with bath, walk-in shower, basin, and WC. utside, there is a non-enclosed wraparound garden with lawn, summerhouse, and barbecue, along with off-road parking for 1 car and additional unrestricted roadside parking. TV and WiFi are included. Fuel and power inc. in rent. Bed linen and towels inc. in rent. One well-behaved pet welcome, please keep on a lead in the garden, as the area is not enclosed. Sorry, no smoking. Mei Cottage offers a flexible base for exploring Devon. Note: Steep stairs to the first floor, grab rails are recommended. Note: The garden is not enclosed and the property sits on a central road, so care is required with young children. Note: The garden hut is currently unavailable for guest use.
