Perched at an altitude of 900 metres, in the heart of the Val d’Arly valley, between Megève and Albertville, this chalet is a beautifully restored former alpine farm. Surrounded by 4 hectares of woodland and offering breathtaking views of the Beaufortain mountain range, the setting is truly spectacular — best enjoyed from the 70 m² suspended terrace.
Today, we would love to share this special place with fellow mountain lovers who respect nature and are looking for an authentic retreat — somewhere to slow down, switch off and recharge.
In Savoie, alpine chalets traditionally come with a mazot, a small wooden cabin that was once used to store and protect food.
Our mazot has been converted into a cosy little retreat with three bedrooms (four 80 cm beds and one 90 cm bed), a kitchen and a very basic bathroom.
It’s a favourite with teenagers, who love having their own little hideaway and making it their space.
There’s no unnecessary luxury here, and no impersonal, sanitised atmosphere either. When we arrived in 2021, we gave the place a new lease of life, making it more energy-efficient and warmer, while preserving the character and authenticity that make it so special.
Inside the chalet, you’ll find three comfortable bedrooms:
1 bedroom with a king-size bed (200 cm)
2 bedrooms with double beds (140 cm)
1 mezzanine sleeping area for 4 guests, with a 160 cm double bed and two 80 cm single beds
2 separate WCs
2 bathrooms — one with a shower and bathtub, the other with a shower
1 sauna
The spacious living area is divided into several cosy spaces: a pool table, a cinema corner with a projector and large screen, a fireplace area, a games area, and a small computer corner.
There is no Wi-Fi installed at the chalet, but the internet connection works perfectly well via mobile phone hotspot.
A large laundry room provides access to an additional fridge, washing machine, tumble dryer and table football.
Outside, you can enjoy an 11-metre swimming pool and a pétanque court, currently being landscaped.
Today a charming alpine chalet, this former 19th-century farmhouse takes its name — Ferme du Four — from its traditional stone oven, located just outside the house and perfect for baking homemade bread and pizzas.
For a more modern take, there’s also a Swedish barbecue, which is definitely worth trying!
